Starting with a site evaluation, we formed a plan with our client to get done exactly what she wanted. With the property being an art studio, our client wanted the lawn and landscape to look natural and undisturbed. Starting out with the lawn, we mowed and trimmed her grass, then over-seeded the whole lawn with new grass seed. We very lightly trimmed her hedges back as to almost look as if they were not touched. To finish up, we brought in sod and prepared the soil for installation.
The goal of this backyard is to attract birds and wildlife, while looking as natural as possible. With a large stream running through the lawn, trimming was important for the landscape to look taken care of. The view of the lawn is from the patio and is used as a remembrance to past relatives that have owned the property. At one point the property housed a horse in a one horse barn for the family before the barn burned down at some point in time.
